The Critical Care department is looking for an RN to join their team. This is a full time, nights position, scheduled 36 hours per week and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. This position is represented by the ONA.

Location:

Mid Columbia Medical Center is located in The Dalles, Oregon. We work, live, and play in the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Oregon.  Located 85 miles east of Portland in the majestic Columbia River Gorge, The Dalles features old-growth forests, rushing waterfalls, and year-round access to outdoor recreation, including downhill and cross-country skiing, world-class water sports, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. The area boasts award-winning wineries, and, most importantly, warm, friendly people.

Responsibilities

Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the Department Director or designee as defined by Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse {(ORS. 678.150/851-045-0030 through 851-045-0100) Nurse Practice Act (2008)}.

 

The hospital-assigned Registered Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for MCMC including those for patient assessment and transfer.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Graduated from accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred; Oregon RN license
    • BLS required
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Additional Requirements based upon department:
      • Critical Care/TELE:  ACLS required, TNCC within one year of hire for primary ICU RN, CCRN preferred
      • Acute Care:  PALS within (2) two years of hire; ACLS and CMSN preferred
      • Inpatient Rehab: Qualified Indicator (QI) certified within (6) six-months of hire, ACLS and CRRN preferred
      • Celilo:  ACLS required, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy courses required within (6) six-months of hire, ONS preferred 
      • Same Day Surgery: PALS required within 6 months, ACLS required within 6 months
      • Emergency: ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required, ENPC, NRP and CEN preferred
      • First Impressions: NRP within 90 days of hire, ACLS, RNC and STABLE preferred
      • Surgery: ACLS required within 6 months, PALS, CNOR, NRP preferred
      • PACU:  ACLS and PALS required NRP within 6 months of hire. CPAN preferred
      • Endoscopy:  ACLS required, Conscious Sedation course required for procedural nurses
    • Current applicable Oregon RN license required.
  • Experience:
    • Six months nursing experience or successful completion of nursing internship program preferred. 
    • Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
    • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised. 
    • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. 
    • Experience with using every day technology tools (e.g, email, Microsoft Office, voicemail, internet/intranet to access, organize and store job-related information.
