  • Overview

    MCMC's Quality & Risk Department in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge is seeking a Director to join their team!

     

    This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits and paid time off package.

    Responsibilities

    Leads and directs the operational activities of the Nursing Quality Team, nursing quality initiatives, and shared governance structure in accordance to the mission, values, and objectives of the organization and nursing department. Responsible for Joint Commission and CMS standards, and NDNQI metrics in nursing. Works with the hospital Risk Manager on risk management concerns as they pertain to nursing. Responsible for the facilitation of a safe environment and safe level of nursing care through mentoring and coordination of the assigned nursing director’s, coordinators, and staff’s roles, responsibilities and expectations.

     

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.

     

    Licensure/Certification:

     

    • Current Oregon RN Licensure and BLS required.
    • CPHRM certification preferred.
    • HCB 100, 200, 300, 400 & 700 required (within 90 days of hire)

     

    Experience:

     

    • Minimum ten years progressively responsible professional and/or managerial experience within a health care environment.
    • Thorough knowledge of operations, including staffing and scheduling, budget management and workflow planning required.
    • Minimum five years’ experience in quality care project management and risk management are required

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

     

    • Strong leadership skills; ability to motivate and teach using various methods.
    • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
    • Experience with using every day technology tools (e.g, email, Microsoft Office, voicemail, internet/intranet) to access, organize and store job-related information.
    • Able to perform nursing techniques
