  • Overview

    The Surgical Services department is seeking an RN to join their team.


    This is a Full Time, day shift (4-10/hr shifts) position and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.


    Candidates must be willing to take after hours call and will be part a call rotation


    Cross training opportunities available for Same Day, Recovery, and Endoscopy. 


    Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the Department Director or designee as defined by Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse {(ORS. 678.150/851-045-0030 through 851-045-0100) Nurse Practice Act (2008)}.


    The hospital-assigned Registered Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for MCMC including those for patient assessment and transfer.


    Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):


    • Graduated from accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred, with a minimum of 650 clinical hours required. 
    • Oregon RN License
    • BLS required
    • ACLS within one year
    • Completion of (or ability to complete within one year) introductory course in OR nursing, sterilization practices training.
    • PALS is required within one year


    • Six months nursing experience or successful completion of nursing internship program preferred. Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized.
    • Scrub experience is preferred
    • Preference will be given to candidates with surgery experience. 


    • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
    • Astute clinical skills, strong interview skills with friendly demeanor, and strives to provide an exceptional patient and family experience .
    • Teamwork and ability to work in a fast paced environment is essential to this position
    • Experience with using every day technology tools (e.g, email, Microsoft Office, voicemail, internet/intranet to access, organize and store job-related information.

    • A thorough understanding and belief in the Planetree philosophy of patient-centered care is essential in order to provide the highest level of personalized care to our patient.
    • Willingness to work in a variety of roles to include scrub positions, circulating RN positions, Same Day surgery, PACU, OR, and float positions
