Mid-Columbia Medical Center, in collaboration with Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), is hiring a full-time board certified/eligible Internal Medicine physician (1.0 FTE) to join the Internal Medicine Clinic at the state-of-the-art Water's Edge facility. Located in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, one of America’s top recreation destinations, this opportunity is accompanied by a clinical faculty appointment in the OHSU School of Medicine in Portland, Oregon.
The Internal Medicine Clinic is composed of a dynamic team of four physicians and four nurse practitioners. Each physician and nurse practitioner functions as the primary care provider for an independent panel of patients, and each provider is paired with dedicated clinical staff. Working in a close-knit, collegial setting, providers of all disciplines are supported by one another, and personal and professional growth is fostered.
The Internal Medicine Clinic is located within the same facility as OHSU Cardiology, OHSU Nephrology, OHSU Orthopedics, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. Services co-located within the Internal Medicine Clinic itself include diabetes education, a pain management specialist, RN care manager, and mental health services. Additionally, onsite radiology and laboratory services are available. The Internal Medicine Clinic is supported by EPIC electronic health record. These robust resources allow for comprehensive care of the whole patient. Internal Medicine providers in this clinic are expected to see patients in clinic four days per week, with one weekday available for administrative time. Opportunity exists to see patients via home visits or in skilled nursing facilities. However, this is not mandatory. Given the clinical faculty appointment, ample opportunity exists for scholarship and teaching, though this is not required. The Internal Medicine Clinic call requirements include “phone only” call, with the schedule consisting of a call session one weeknight every other week, and one in eight weekends.
