The Licensed Medical Social Worker provides social work services to patients who have been identified as needing ancillary mental health / psycho-social services. Works both independently and collaboratively as part of a medical practice team that includes Physicians, Pharmacists, Clinic Providers and staff, and other outpatient clinic staff. Key services include (but are not limited to) psycho-social assessment; brief problem-solving counseling; crisis management; access to insurance; referrals to community resources, education, and leading groups. Performs related work as assigned. Provides professional counseling services within the mission, values, and goals of the organization. May provide psychological assessment; individual, group, and/or family therapy; as well as diagnosis of patients experiencing mental and/or emotional disorders.
Master of Social Work degree from an accredited school of social work plus two years relevant experience (post-masters). LCSW license required. Strongly prefer experience in the following areas:
Mental Health Counseling
Evidenced Based Practices
minimum of 2 years of clinical experience
Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Experience with using every data technology tools (e.g, email, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, voicemail, internet/intranet to access, organize and store job-related information.
