Overview

Mid-Columbia Medical Center is hiring for an Accountant II position to join our Finance team.

 

This position is part time core 20 hours per week and eligible for a comprehensive benefits package OR a 13% pay differential in lieu of benefits.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing complex support to meet the financial accounting and analytical needs of MCMC. This position uses advanced knowledge of financial, clinical and data systems, as well as PC technologies to provide financial data for accounting operations and reporting, accounting support for other operation within the Finance Division(cost reporting, variance analyses, productivity standards) and special projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field, or equivalent experience required.

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of three progressively responsible experience in accounting and finance or equivalent in training and experience.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of health care accounting systems and related support functions, such as Cash, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Accrued and Other Liabilities ,and healthcare operational and clinical practices.
  • Experience with using everyday technology tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing, voicemail, internet/intranet) to access, organize and store job information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive analytical tasks using appropriate computer software tools.
  • A highly demonstrated knowledge and utilization of Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated judgment in prioritizing projects and reaching appropriate analytical conclusions.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
