Overview

MCMC is seeking a Device Clinic Specialist join their Cardiology team.

 

This is a full time position and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

The Device Clinic Specialist will work in the ambulatory Cardiology Clinics and will work collaboratively reporting to the Practice Manager. The Device Clinic Specialist is responsible for in-person and remote device checks. They will log onto each of the remote monitoring device websites, analyze each new transmission, complete a remote transmission report, and communicate any alarm conditions, abnormality of heart rhythm or change in device function to the appropriate cardiologist in a time-appropriate manner. 

 

The Device Clinic Specialist works closely with the Device Clinic Nurse to ensure appropriate care and follow-up for all of the Device Clinic Patients (additional hours may be necessary on occasion due to clinic schedule/patient care needs). They will be responsible for:

  • Organization of device clinic and the follow up schedule
  • Collaborate with Device Clinic Nurse and Practice Manager to track patients effectively and bill appropriately
  • Streamline processes in device clinic to maximize throughput and reimbursement

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of clinical or industry experience with pacemaker and ICD interrogations and reprogramming including remote monitoring (an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience)
  • Demonstrated competency in interrogation/reprogramming of Medtronic, Saint Jude Medical, Boston Scientific and Biotronik pacemakers and ICD's
  • Competence in in-person and remote monitoring of single, dual and CRT pacing systems, implanted cardiac defibrillators and implanted loop recorders

Skills:

  • Advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation and pacemaker/ICD analysis skills
  • Computer skills with a working knowledge of electronic medical record systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Proven experience with interpersonal communication, collaboration and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Current BLS certificate
