Overview

MCMC is seeking a Medical Assistant Lead to work in our Orthopedics Clinic.

 

This is a full time position and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

Leads the work of Medical Assistants and others in the clinical operation of a patient care setting. Acts as mentor by role modeling professional practice consistent with organizational goals, customer service, clinical effectiveness and accepted standards of care. Helps maintain efficient and effective workflow within their assigned area.

 

Responsible for providing quality patient care while following established standards and practices under the supervision of a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or RN.   Assists the provider, nurse, or other staff with the daily coordination of patient care and patient access. Coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments, procedures, tests and referrals to maintain department/clinic efficiency. Participates in daily operations under the direction of a supervisor, manager and/or Registered Nurse. Demonstrates excellence in customer service during interactions with all customers.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited, approved program.

Experience:

  • At least two years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferably in a clinical setting.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of preferred practices as they apply to Medical Assistants.    
  • Basic knowledge of all pertinent laws, rules, and regulations governing the provision of care to patients in the State of Oregon by a Medical Assistant.
  • Ability to problem-solve.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with staff, colleagues, and other community partners.
  • Ability to maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing.
