Overview

Mid-Columbia Medical Center's Environmental Services Department in The Dalles, Oregon is in need of dependable self-motivated individuals with a keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

 

This is a full time position and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

 

Responsibilities

The Environmental Services Representative is responsible for the cleaning of all assigned areas. The Representative must clean all areas thoroughly for the safety of our patients and guests. Duties include: dusting vacuuming; cleaning windows/mirrors; making beds; picking up linen/trash/recycle; other duties assigned. Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and common areas. In collaboration with others, carry out housekeeping support in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidance and regulations by the Director of Environmental Services.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):

Education/Licenses

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
  • Valid Driver’s license preferred but not required

Experience

  • One year experience working in environmental services or related area

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to relate to others with courtesy and tact under normal as well as stressful conditions
  • Experience with using every day technology tools (e.g. email, voicemail, internet / intranet) to access information

 

Strong housekeeping skills and/or experience cleaning in a healthcare setting is preferred. Must be able to work weekends, evenings, & nights.  Bi-lingual skills are desired. This person needs to have the ability to make independent decisions while maintaining productivity and providing excellent customer service. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50-70 lbs. and push or pull a cart weighing up to 150 lbs. The ability to effectively communicate with other healthcare professionals and remain calm during times of high stress are a necessity for this position.
