Overview

Mid Columbia Outpatient Clinics is now accepting applications for a Medical Assistant to join their exceptional team working directly with a provider. The primary responsibility of this position will be working closely with a provider team in the daily coordination of patient care and patient access.

 

This is a full time position and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

 

 

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality and safe services for seven specialty clinics. The individual in this position will work cooperatively with the care team to support the vision of Mid Columbia Outpatient Clinics. Provides quality appropriate patient care, utilizing customer service skills throughout the patient care continuum. Collects pertinent patient data and coordinates with provider and team for appropriate patient intervention. Will work with the front office to ensure smooth patient flow, and waiting room management.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program; or equivalent training and experience.
  • Required: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant by an accredited agency or greater than 3 years experience and will obtain certification in 90 days from date of hire.
  • Current BLS certification required.

Experience

  • Experience as a back office medical assistant in a clinic setting
  • Three years experience preferred

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Ability to work under the general supervision of a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse
  • Ability to perform basic data entry into the patient’s electronic medical records.
  • Familiarity with computers (e.g. e-mail, commonly used software applications, intranet/internet)

1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a multi-specialty office preferred (i.e. Nephrology, Endocrinology, and Dermatology) is preferred; ability to recognize and anticipate the needs of the patient and provider; adaptable and accepts change well; organized; exceptional ability to multitask; independent decision making skills; works as a team player at all levels; assists coworkers with duties when requested, to include, but not limited to floating to other areas, effective communication; ability to assist provider with small surgical procedures and wound care. Medical Assistant Certification is strongly preferred, as is Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience preferred.
