Overview

Mid-Columbia Medical Center is hiring a Supervisor II to oversee the operational activities in the clinical areas at the new Nichols Building located in Hood River, Oregon.

 

This is a full-time position, and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits and PTO package.

Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision responsible for coordinating the administrative and/or operational activities of multiple clinical areas with focus on developing work-flow, achieving financial budgets and supervising day to day operations of these clinics. Provides administrative support and serves in lead role for assigned staff, and oversees, with Director and Building Director

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in training and experience preferred, BHA, MHA or similar preferred.
  • Valid Oregon/Washington Driver’s License
  • CPR/BLS certification required within the first thirty days of hire

 Experience:

  • A minimum three years of progressively responsible work in operations in clinical or health industry with at least two years in a supervisory/management role; specific experience in implementation of capital/operating budgets, strategic marketing and business plans, human resource development, retail/membership sales and wellness programming
  • Experience in interacting with all levels of organization.
  • Expertise with EMR/EHR, preferably EPIC or similar.
  • Strong communication, initiative, creativity and problem solving skills required. 

Minimum Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of personal computer operations and experience in office system software.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge regarding insurance rules and regulations
  • Knowledge general workflows and operations of specialty clinics.
  • Excellent customer service experience and expectations.
  • Knowledge with surgery scheduling
  • Knowledge with incoming and outgoing referrals
  • Able to work under pressure meeting goals and objectives.
  • Able to work a variety of schedules
  • Solid computer literacy including expertise in Microsoft Office and experience with multiple wellness, spa, restaurant and/or hospitality software programs. Working knowledge of and ability to create presentations (charts, graphs of data, etc.) utilizing computer software programs (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to compose specialized correspondence and reports. Ability to edit documents for grammar, punctuation, etc. Demonstrated sixty words per minute keyboarding skill, advanced word processing skills and budgeting proficiency.
  • Responsible for strategic/business planning and implementation of key initiatives and programs to ensure alignment with the mission, values and objectives of supervised department(s) and the organization
  • Oversees all administrative processes associated with Division, and administrative staff within each department.
  • Responsible for daily facility compliance with administrative processes and works closely with the off-site Practice Managers to assure ongoing regulatory compliance with state, federal and housewide policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment when making decisions within the framework of organization policy, seeking consultation as needed.
  • Ability to understand, anticipate, prioritize and follow through on responsibilities with a high degree of initiative.
  • Ability to successfully manage and oversee administrative support staff with sound management decision making and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate highly professional interpersonal skills and represent the department in a respectful, collaborative manner both within and outside of the organization.
  • Responsible for the recruitment and retention process of department(s) staffing to include: oversight and/or participation in interviewing, selection, training, development and evaluation and professional development of all administrative staff. Assesses technical and professional education needs of the staff and develops or provides educational resources to meet those needs. Oversees and/or assigns workloads and monitors quantity and quality of work
  • Oversees integration of Hood River Building programs; encourages and fosters collaborative service offerings. Supports Hood River Building mission and addresses needs of the target audience together with directors and key players
  • Maximizes the efficiency of EPIC EMR, and CSI systems with collaboration by directors
