Overview

Mid-Columbia Medical Center is currently hiring a Full-time Epic Trainer/Informatics for inpatient staff Epic training.

 

 

This position is Full-time and is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

This position will provide Epic EHR education at MCMC.  The Epic Trainer will develop and maintain the EHR training curriculum and will design and implement work-site education utilizing a variety of learning methods.  This position is responsible for all aspects of training activities for healthcare care providers, nursing departments, and additional clinical and non-clinical departments as appropriated and will coordinate training of the trainers.  Additionally, this role will lead work-flow process improvement and other needs regarding Epic training as appropriate. 

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Licensure/Certifications

  • Clinical license is strongly preferred (RN, CNA, RT, ect.)
  • EPIC credentialed within a designated time frame

 

Experience:

  • Minimum five years of experience providing training, course design and web development including on-line courses, instruction design, technical writing and understanding of theories, tools and methods or adult learning OR  equivalent in a clinical background may be considered
  • Experience with providing training on an EHR is strongly preferred

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of computer and Electronic Medical Records
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to articulate information and ideas clearly (verbally and in writing), based on the needs of the audience
  • Detail orientation and organization skills
  • Microsoft Word & Excel, and Power Point
  • Multi-tasking skills and the ability to apply those skills in a fast-paced, stressful environment
  • Learning skills to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
